all my faults, all my mistakes

good things I didn't do, or did too late

You saw them all, You saw my shame

but You did not punish me, You took the blame

the stain has been erased, and I begin again

The man I was is gone, but a new life has begun

because of your sacrifice, my sins have disappeared

like snowflakes in the sun

for all our greed, and want of more

for all our cruelty, battles and wars

we deserve to die, for our disgrace

but in Your mercy Jesus, You take our place

there was shock and horror, when the cross spelled out Your doom

but there was also great amazement, when they looked inside Your tomb

and You were

the man You were has gone, but in the Spirit You live on
